Description
Excerpted from the website:
- In 1995, all those years ago, at Barrow in Furness, we installed the first "Networked Audio System" into a BBC "On Air" studio. We chose software from the Irish company Radiomation, having been impressed by the simplicity of their user interface and the overall reliability of their system. Radiomation's peer-to-peer networking proved to be an efficient and effective way of dealing with the limitations of the available pc hardware at that time. We were also impressed by the neat and simple to use "Cool Edit" audio editor, licensed from Syntrillium who went on to produce the legendary Cool Edit Pro as well as a succession of updated two track editors. Sadly they eventually sold out to Adobe and only the multitrack Cool Edit Pro survived,to form the basis of "Adobe Audition". With Radiomation we went on to develop a customised audio system for BBC Local Radio stations across the North of England including a specially designed Radiomation "News Exchange" system to facilitate the exchange of audio files between the stations using ISDN.
