- Vulkan Technic was founded in 1995, and is located in Wiesbaum, 1 hour south of Cologne. Vulkan Technic with about 55 employees offers customized solutions in various industrial fields. The division of biotechnology was founded in 2001 and is marketed under the new brand name ABBIS - bio process automation since March 2006. ABBIS is an acronym meaning Advantage By Bio-Innovation-Systems. Vulkan Technic‘s and ABBIS` key aspects of activity are development and manufacture of customized systems for quality-assured mass production of high-quality articles for the following industrial fields: Automotive, Electronics & Metal, Consumer Products, Biotechnology & Life Science, Beverage & Food Vulkan Technic and ABBIS are certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and offer the complete infrastructure covering design engineering, development, installation and commissioning as well as after-sales service. This includes spare-parts service, operator and maintenance training and service contracts. This infrastructure allows for fast and flexible response to our customer requirements. The successful co-operation with different biotechnology companies enabled ABBIS to extend their technical know how in micro liquid handling for different applications such as: Nucleic Acid Isolation Hybridization Spotting of Microarrays for BioChips Microfermentation
