It’s not right up on La Butte next to the Sacré Coeur with all the tourists, nor is it down with all the nightlife in Pigalle. Les Abbesses is a bustling little quartier, half way between Le Moulin de La Galette and Le Moulin Rouge, that is lively and smart, with fashionable bars, restaurants and shops. Some say it is becoming too “bobo” – bourgeois bohemian - but it still retains that “je ne sais quoi” of a real old Parisian quartier.
