Absaroka River Adventures: Whitewater Rafting in Southcentral Montana
Description
Excerpted from the website:
- The Stillwater River is a snow-melt spring-fed river that heads high in the Absaroka-Beartooth Mountains near Yellowstone National Park. The river increases in size as it races through the mountains, until it emerges out of a narrow canyon with a roar. From there, the Stillwater slows down a bit, but offers excellent rafting and kayaking opportunities as it makes its way toward the Yellowstone.
- Since the Stillwater River is entirely free-flowing (no dams), the flows fluctuate a great deal throughout the course of the summer.
