- The 2nd Architectural Biennial Beijing?iABB2006?j is going to be organized jointly by the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Culture P.R.China on September 26?`October 6, 2006, including main theme exhibitions, special theme exhibitions and forums. The main theme of ABB2006 is ?gCity and Architecture: Resources Efficiency and Environment Friendness?h. The ABB2006 will focus the connections between urban planning and architectural design. The participants will study and discuss the policies and solutions mainly on economy and management of resources, and environment friendness in the buildings of city, between urban and rural construction, city and nature, exchange the experiences of rural construction, and forecast the developments of cities in the 21st century internationally and constructively. On the base of the success of the 1st Architectural Biennial Beijing (ABB2004), institutes, organizations, architects, artists within the fields of urban planning, architectural design, architectural art would be invited to participate the ABB2006, however the examinations of their qualifications and art levels should be passed through the Organizing Committee of ABB2006. Some foreign countries have actively expressed their wishes to participate the ABB2006, and some of them will build national galleries during the event. The funds on the ABB2006 will be prepared from the collections of theparticipation fee, the rental fee of exhibition space as well as the fee in aid of relevant enterprises, organizations and participants. China Architectural Culture Centre, China Art Science and Technology Research Institute and Beijing Zhihuida Culture Development Co., Ltd have been appointed by the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Culture to organize the ABB2006. The ABB2006 Organizing Committee has been composed of the leaders and experts from the both ministries and the appointed organizers, in order to conduct the ABB2006 well.
