- The Diocese of Arua, formerly part of Gulu Diocese, was erected on 23rd June 1958. It covers the whole of North Western Uganda commonly called West Nile Region. The Patron Saints of the Arua Diocese are Sacred Heart of Jesus and Our Lady Mediatrix of all Graces. The first Bishop of Arua Diocese from 1958 up to 1984 was the Rt. Rev. Angelo Tarantino of the Comboni Missionaries. From The 15th August 1986 to date Bishop Frederick Drandua has been heading the Diocese.
