January 25th 2005, I became a proud owner of a Canon EOS 20D, a EF-S 17-85mm. I also have a set of Kenko extension tubes, a EF 50mm lens and an EF 80-200mm lens.

I’m not a professional photographer and probably not even a good photographer. But I can give you some advice on lessons I’ve learned.

Buy a good camera. Don’t buy something because it’s cheaper and then be pissed off about crappy quality. Use a tripod. Some wiggly pictures are cool but for the most part they are not. Take an ass load of pictures. On my hikes or walks I might shoot 100 pictures and only get 20 that I really like. Get photoshop. Not to mangle your pictures up but 9 times out of 10 they will need to be edited, resized or what not.
