- In 1942, Tex Radford, a spartan machinist, founded Aeroparts Machining Specialists (AMS). Radford was an entrepreneur and started his company from scratch. In the beginning he handled everything from sales calls to manufacturing the product. Radford began manufacturing parts for airplanes and then grew the company into manufacturing pumps and valves for a variety of industries including the oil and gas industry.
