- The A.E. Raketty Company was started in 1931 by Arnie and Borgil Raketty (two immigrants from Finland). They first operated out of the back of their car selling candy to local Mom & Pop stores. Since then we have grown to include the entire block between Orcas and Mead on Rainier Avenue South. We are now a full service Candy and Tobacco Wholesaler servicing the greater Puget Sound area. We service the University of Washington, many of the local high school student stores, plus all of the local naval bases and many other independent and chain stores. Currently we are a small women owned business operated by the daughter of the founders.
