- The Academy for Career Development (The Academy) is a not-for-profit 501C3 Charitable Organization founded in November of 1992. It is Rochester’s only not-for-profit Business School Registered by the University of the State of New York, NYS Education Department, Bureau of Proprietary Schools Supervision (it is one of only sixteen such organizations across New York State). The Academy is an approved training vendor under the Rochester/Monroe County Workforce Investment Board through its’ Rochester Works One-Stop Career Center, the NYS Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals With Disabilities (VESID), and various programs through the NYS Department of Labor. It is also a member of the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), and AC4 (the Association of Christian Community Computing Centers).
