In a recent independent survey of 7L's customers, the company was told that there were four primary reasons customers chose them over the competition, and why those customers continued to stay with 7L.

1. They found the openness and honesty of the company and employees to be "refreshing".

2. The affordability of 7L's services over the years.

3. Being able to work with 7L staff that are real people that don't use pre-canned responses. Customers know they're dealing with a small team of people that actually care about the customers and the technology.

4. SevenL's customers really appreciate the fact that they focus on Linux dedicated hosting and that they also support and give back to the Linux community. For example, you can find 7L on the following Linux websites as they have either financially or technologically assisted them: Gentoo Linux (www.gentoo.org), CentOS (www.centos.org), Arch Linux (www.archlinux.org), Linux Mint (www.linuxmint.com), Startcom Linux (www.startcom.org) and others.

Company History

SevenL Networks, Inc. (formerly owned by Labattracks.net Managing Services, Inc.) is an IT hosting company based in Toronto, Ontario. The company owns their data center, which is located adjacent to their office.

7L's support ideology is best summed-up by its trademark slogans - Relentless Support™, Relentless Customer Support™ & Relentless Technical Support™.

Starting in late 2002 and completing in early 2003, Cassius Adams successfully negotiated the use of approximately 5,000sq.ft of vacant raised floor space from Daniel Gallo within his 100,000sq.ft building. In the deal, Daniel also provided a very small amount of financial assistance to get SevenL Networks moving. The company was originally under the Labattacks.net Managing Services, Inc. umbrella but has always been branded as SevenL Networks. Often referring to the data center as his "sand box", Cassius learned to share in the spring of 2003 when he brought aboard Carey McLelland of Hotline Communications and Todd Berman of the Mono Project and a frequent Gentoo Linux contributor. Over the next few months, the team built out SevenL's first server network, and by fall of 2003 the company had its first customer. David Gallo, who currently holds the position of VP of Business Development, first joined the team in the summer of 2004. His contributions were felt immediately as he formed a number of key business relationships.

A favorable partnership with the Gentoo Linux organization allowed for a rapid expansion of customers and by November 2005, the 100+ server network was nearing capacity. A fiber optic line was added to help alleviate stress on the overall network and in January 2006 the improvements were launched.

On June 1st 2007, 7L separated from Labattracks.net Managing Services, Inc. and officially became its own entity - SevenL Networks Inc. In May 2008, the User Control Panel portal for clients was launched, allowing customers to interact with Support and review, update and monitor their accounts. That summer, the 7L logo was modernized. Many people complained that the original logo had a 1980s feel to it and that the company needed a fresh new look.

By the time fall of 2008 came, 7L's network had again become saturated and a decision to build a completely new and BGP redundant network was made. This time, rather than expanding on existing network infrastructure, SevenL would start from scratch, ensuring longevity. In late 2008 and early 2009, the company went through the tedious task of moving all their customers from their leased IP address blocks to 7L's own blocks. Preparations for this part of the transition proved to be challenging and took many months to complete. Customers would need to keep both their old IPs and their new IPs, from two completely separate networks, functional on their servers in order to keep their websites from going down either due to the IP transition or for DNS related reasons.
