789 Crew - East London based music group!
789 Crew was formed in January 2007, and are an East London based UK Hip-Hop/Grime/RnB/Garage crew put together by Khalid with the help of M.Y.ZEE and YuN.
The name 789 doesn’t have a specific meaning but was chosen so that it could be remembered easily. It can be known as a sequence of numbers which can be seen everywhere from computer keyboards to mobile phones. This all reinforcing the name 789 into the persons mind.
The first song released by the 789 Crew was ‘Don’t Be Shy’. The track included SnR Recordings, close companions to the crew. The song became a massive hit and many radio stations including BBC Asian Network and Club Asia played the song for 3 weeks running. Even today the catchy song ‘Don’t Be Shy’ still proves to be a favourite for many people.
As well as performing at many venues, 789 Crew did a live show on UK FLOW TV presented by Explicit Records Ltd owner Venom, which proved to be a huge success. Following the positive feedback 789 Crew received and all the support they got, 789 Crew have decided to perform again later on this year. This time aiming for an even better response and a bigger show than the first.
With the ending of the year 2007, a number of different artists had joined the crew. Artists included; ScarFaZe, Mr Rickz, Sin1, Rahul and DJ Desibandit.
Having a fresh start in 2008, 789 Crew have got many ambitions which they would like to achieve for the year.
Already they have managed to gain sponsorship with an internet radio station called Xtreme Desi, and Asian lifestyle magazine Sensazn. Both companies are providing different means of promotion for 789 Crew through their company.
In March 2008, reputable companions such as SnR Recordings (Slicer n Renegade) joined the Crew, to make them even stronger and evidently successful. A few weeks later producers JoNz.L and Echo made a new addition to the 789 Crew.
Currently the crew are putting together a promo CD which will hit the streets very soon, and will feature all the current artists in 789. The promo CD will cover different genres and would appeal to a wider audience, not just to a certain crowd. 789 Crew are hoping to have the promo CD ready for summer of 2008.
