The 'Theta II' as named by Hyundai, is just one branch of the 'World Motor' tree. The 'Theta II' shares is basic design with the 4B11T found in Mitsubishi's Lancer Evolution and Lancer Ralliart platforms. It's also is built on the same 'World Engine' platform as the 2006+ Hyundai Sonata and newer Dodge/Chrysler products, like the Caliber, that use the GEMA World Engine 2.4. The World engine design was a joint Venture, so to speak, between Mitsubishi and Hyundai. Flavors include a 1.6L, 1.8L, 2.
