Located 70 miles northwest of Oklahoma City, Watonga is the county seat of Blaine County and now has a population of approximately 5,000. Diamondback Correctional Facility and Beaulieu of America, (formerly Hollytex Carpet Mill) are the two largest employers. Agriculture and ranching are also big business, along with gypsum mining and manufacturing.
