It was at the first anti-war meeting in September, ten days after the attacks in the US, that this organisation came together. The meeting, organised by CND, the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, took place at Friends Meeting House on Euston Road, London. The speakers included the self-titled "usual suspects" - George Monbiot, Bruce Kent, Tariq Ali and MP Jeremy Corbyn. Although organised on a fairly impromptu basis with a venue capacity of a few hundred, over 2,000 people crammed inside and out, to see what they could do to help.
