JASON HILBOURNE has worked in product design as a mechanical engineer for 16 years. After receiving a BSME from UCSB in 1993, he worked at stereo-lithography rapid proto pioneer Scicon outside of Los Angeles. "I worked on all kinds of stuff--consumer electronics, dog bowls, medical products; but I noticed a lot of wireless work coming out of Silicon Valley." Hilbourne moved to San Francisco to work for Itron on its industry-first Automated Meter Reading network business.
