- Peter Lupini received a B.A.Sc. degree from the University of British Columbia in 1985, and a Ph.D. degree from Simon Fraser University in 1995, all in electrical engineering. From 1982 to 1990, he worked at MacDonald Dettwiler as an analyst, developing algorithms for the remote sensing industry. His doctoral work focused on low bit rate compression of speech for digital cellular telephony. Between 1995 and 2005, Peter worked at IVL Technologies, Ltd. in Victoria, British Columbia. As manager of the IVL research team, he directed work on understanding and modeling the human voice production mechanism, with applications to voice transformation and vocal enhancement.
