3canal are recording artists from Trinidad & Tobago. They play what is called "Rapso" music.
Rapso - “The Power of the Word in the Rhythm of the Word”, is more of a philosophy than a specific musical style. 3canal's rapso rhythms range from classical to East Indian, to rock, with a strong base in the Afro-Caribbean. The power is in the lyrics!
3canal also has created a production company called cut + clear productions. Through this, they offer services in Design & Consultancy, Performance Workshops and Event Production & Management.
Since 2004 they have produced a yearly stage show in the Trinidad Carnival period (February/March). For the Trinidad Carnival they also create a Jouvay Band. Jouvay is a street parade where revellers take to the streets from 4am to sunrise, with "mas" or masquerade costumes including mud, oil and body paint. That's the "dutty mas" or dirty mas. They also do a lot of work with young people in workshops, using the carnival arts as a means of expression and empowerment. '
