I was born in Chicago, Illinois. My first exposure to television and the camera lens was at the age of 14, when I learned the basics of television broadcasting through my local church. Already deeply influenced by musicianship from my family, it was no surprise to anyone that I became quickly immersed in the art of television and film. Within a relatively short period of time, I was operating studio cameras, editing sound, and even editing three-quarter inch tape.
