- Tara and Nanci first became acquainted when Tara moved to Brownsburg, Indiana in 1990. With many common interests and similarly aged young children, the two moms soon struck up a friendship. In the natural course of sharing the daily triumphs and stresses of motherhood and family life, they both realized they had another thing in common - neither of them seemed able to put a decent meal on the dinner table. Nanci admitted to being nearly a non-cook who only seemed able to put boxed mixes and canned foods on the table. Tara was a frustrated cook - she knew how to make the recipes, but lacked the organizational skills needed to manage getting the food made and to the table. For both women, the daily food task had become nothing more than a dreaded chore. They both felt they were failing their families and themselves. Something HAD to be done.
