The site launched in May 2010, the third in a stable of websites created by travel writers Mark Hodson and David Wickers. Their other sites are 101 Holidays and 101 Short Breaks. 101 Family Holidays will launch in May 2011.
The sites are innovative because they use images as a way for users to search, and they offer limited curated choice, rather than endless options. "We felt that consumers were being overwhelmed by too much choice online. Rather than giving them endless options, we wanted to present highly selective recommendations by expert writers," said Hodson.
Features
The site has a honeymoon quiz, written by Anderson, where users can answer 10 simple questions to get personalised destination recommendations. In addition, there are sections on honeymoon packages, honeymoons on a budget and honeymoon planning. There is advice on organising beach weddings and getting married abroad.
The site also has a blog - known as Honeychat that includes tips, latest deals and interviews with industry experts about their own honeymoons. It features everythingn from spa holidays to luxury city breaks.
