- The 10-8 Video System was born out of personal necessity. As an officer and K-9 handler with a small department, funding was not available for in-car video systems. And in today's judicial environment, they are becoming an absolute necessity! I began looking into the 12 major suppliers of patrol car video systems and was disappointed that they started at about $3000 and went way up from there. Some even needed additional back end equipment to support the systems in the vehicles. I looked at surplus equipment, but it was very outdated and came with no guarantees to be complete or even work.
