The KID was organized 90 years ago under Washington State law. It took 40 years to get from "organized" to "funded" and "built." For the last 50 years the KID has provided water to agricultural and residential customers within parts of Kennewick, Richland, West Richland and Benton County. Washington State's irrigation districts operate under Title 87 (among others) of the Revised Code of Washington.
