- I don’t have to tell you what happened on Sept. 11th of 2001, you already know. But what you don’t know is that every SEAL and Special Forces guy around the globe stationed in a non-deployable unit quickly called their detailers and asked to be put back in a deployable status. I told my detailer I wanted to get in the next platoon at any SEAL team that was headed into harm’s way. He told me that his phone had been ringing off the wall and that he needed all of us to stay right where we were and do the best job we could do to support our buddies going forward. So I stayed put and did my very best to teach the students under my care how to fight, how to survive and how to win in any situation.
