Preco Electronics began in 1947 as a designer and manufacturer of electronic industrial safety products. Today, Preco has evolved into a diversified organization that serves a broad base of customers in the computer, industrial, instrumentation and transportation markets. Preco is recognized worldwide as an innovator, designer and manufacturer of vehicle communications systems, providing products and services that exceed our customers' expectations.
Preco is the inventor and original patent holder of the reverse motion alarm, known in the industry as the Bac-A-Larm, and has the largest install- base of these products in the world. Nearly every major OEM (original equipment manufacturer) in North America and Europe that use reverse motion alarms, use Preco Electronics.
Preco's radar detection system, PreView, is the only detection system in the world to meet the stringent detection criteria outlined in the SAE (society of automotive engineers) specification #1741. Preco has a strong resume in the vehicle communications field as well, being the manufacturer of systems used by FedEx and Bell South. In addition to manufacturing safety products and vehicle communications systems, Preco Electronics also designs and manufactures rugged electronic controls, including display technologies for major OEMs.
