The Hilton Hotel has its headquarters based at Beverly Hills, California in the United States, and is one of the largest chains of hotels in the world today. Hilton is the brand of the Hilton Hotels Corporation. The UK and the US based Hilton Hotels had separated from each other way back in 1966. The United Kingdom Hilton chain of hotels was acquired by the Hilton Group plc in 1987. Change in Ownership
The US private equity firm Blackstone Group has now taken over the Hilton Hotels Corporation, through a merger agreement. The deal is worth $26 billion, and under this deal, the Blackstone will acquire all the outstanding common stock of Hilton for $47.50 per share. Hilton’s net income in 2006 was $572 million on revenue of $8.16 billion. The financial support for the deal is provided by the Bear Stearns, Bank of America Corp, Deutsche Bank AG, Morgan Stanley and Goldman together.
