Founded in 1995 by Dr. Pola Rosen, Education Update, an award-winning * monthly free newspaper, deals with issues, people and events in education from pre-school to graduate school. Currently, Education Update has about 100,000 readers and receives 2 million monthly hits on its website, www.EducationUpdate.com. Recently Education Update was on New York 1 (NY1) news for creating an historic event: honoring outstanding teachers in NYC. Our readers include teachers, principals, superintendents, guidance counselors, members of the Board of Regents, college presidents, deans of education, foundation heads, corporate leaders, politicians, parents and high school and college students.
Monthly columnists include Mayor Bloomberg, Chancellor Joel Klein, NYS Education Committee Chair Assemblyman Steve Sanders, Former First Lady of New York State Matilda Cuomo, Council of Supervisors and Administrators' President Jill Levy and UFT President Randi Weingarten.
Dr. Pola Rosen holds a BA from Barnard College and a doctoral degree in Special Education from Columbia University (Teachers College)
