- .406 Club is a group of Boston Red Sox fans looking for a place to talk and discuss our favorite baseball team. The idea was to find a place where this discussion could go on without being trolled or spammed, and where all Sox fans could come, regardless of their opinions. .406 was formed on December 22, 2003 as a private message board and chat when a group of Red Sox fans found a place to get together to discuss our favorite team without the trolls or restrictions other forums offered. We believe that all Red Sox fans should be allowed to chat about the Beantown Boys no matter what your opinions are and thus have the opportunity to chat with each other without fear of opinion-based banishment. The only restriction on membership is that the perspective member must have something to add. Trolling and spamming will not be allowed. Any Red Sox fan can join unless they have previously exhibited disruptive or negative behavior to other Red Sox fans. All we ask is that you treat fellow Sox fans with the respect you would want to be shown. As Red Sox fans, we all have common goals, but differing opinions of how to get there and we feel message boards should offer Sox fans a forum to discuss and debate these ideas without fear of being banished because of their opinions. We have all suffered long and hard together, and sticking together is what separates us from Yankee fans and other fans who run at the first sign of adversity. When you become a member, you may feel free to come chat or post on the message board about what you like, whether it be Hoss Radbourn’s 60 win season for the Portland Grays (yes, this actually happened), or whether or not Grady should have pulled Pedro (if you can believe there is actually still a debate about this). Should Pete Rose be re-instated? Should the Red Sox have traded for Alex Rodriguez? Was the Jeff Bagwell trade really that bad? Discuss all this and more when you join us at .406club.
