We understand that lingerie shopping can be a frustrating experience, especially when smaller sizes are not available at stores or, when available, do not fit petite proportions properly. For many manufacturers the shape and size of an A cup is based on a scaled down version of a B or C cup, which leads to incorrect A cup sizing and, often, an unflattering fit. And, don’t even try finding AA cup bras as they are an extremely rare and neglected species!
As for the definition of “petite,” the industry definition is that of a woman who is 5’ 4” or under. We find this definition both too broad, as it does not address the size of a woman’s frame, and too height restrictive because there are women, for example, who are 5’ 6” but who wear a size 4 and have a small frame. Lula Lu selected sizes 30AA to 38A and dress sizes 0 to 6 to provide a focus for our definition of petite lingerie. We continue to evaluate our size definition and input from our customers plays a large part in the evaluation process.
