Title

Visalia Unitarian Universalist Fellowship - Inclusiveness, Reason, and Ethical Living (Tulare County)

Description

We serve the gateway communities to Sequoia National Park of Visalia, Tulare, Exeter, Three Rivers, Farmersville, Goshen, Dinuba, Reedley, Kingsburg, Selma, and our neighbors in King County in Hanford, Corcoran, and Lemoore, in California's San Joaquin Valley. If you live outside this region, there are several other UU Congregations of the Central Valley and Sierra.

Our Fellowship, like all UU congregations, is self-governing with authority and responsibility vested in the membership. A UU Fellowship like ours (as distinguished from a UU Church) does not have a permanent clergy, but is lay-lead. Our Fellowship is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA), representing over 1,000 congregations. On both a national and congregational level, even churches which have clergy, decisions are made by the democratic process, with final authority resting in the membership of each person in the congregation or the denomination itself rather than an organized hierarchy.

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Visalia (UUFV) was founded in 1970. We cherish diversity and welcome among us people of various races, cultures, ages, abilities, sexual identities and faith perspectives. Distinctions of power and privilege that exist outside our doors do not apply within them.
