ULSG LLC

Description

The ULSG, LLC, is a limited liability company incorporated April 11, 2003 in Florida. “ULSG” is an acronym standing for the Uniformed Services Former Spouses’ Protection Act (USFSPA) Litigation Support Group. The ULSG, LLC, was founded and exists for the purposes of overturning the Act. Amongst ULSG's purposes is raising public consciousness and knowledge of the Act and its operations, to direct efforts to reform or repeal the Act by coordinating and financing litigation that challenges various aspects of the Act, including its constitutionality.

The ULSG, LLC, is managed by four principals: Jack C. Crutchfield, James R. Marrs, John B. Noone, Jr., and Ronald J. King. ULSG, LLC, raises funds for its operations by means of donations from interested individuals, who are collectively known as ULSG "members" or "constituents." The ULSG obtained a federal tax identification number that is on record with the Internal Revenue Service, and on July 20, 2005 the IRS granted tax exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This means all funds collected for the lawsuit are free of US Income Taxes and can be totally applied to the expenses of the lawsuit.

The members of the ULSG consist primarily of persons who are divorced military active duty or retirees from all the United States Armed Forces to include the Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Commissioned Corps of the U. S. Public Health Service who currently are, or will be subject to and are directly affected by, the provisions of the USFSPA by virtue of a divorce court order rendered by one of the 50 States or American territories. ULSG members are American citizens who live and are located mostly in the United States, but there are members located throughout the world. Any other persons who are categorized as employees of United States Government Uniformed Services (who are not members of the United States Armed Forces but who are subject to USFSPA) are eligible to become members of the ULSG.
