Description
Each year, the team holds tryouts in the beginning of September right when school starts up. Everything is word of mouth and we are always interested in new talent. If you are interested in playing in upcoming seasons, please email umdclubhockey@hotmail.com and you will be put on the email list for updated information regarding the team.
The UMD club hockey team was established in 2001. It is a compilation of some of the school's finest hockey players (non-D1) that can commit to playing a full season of hockey while still in school. Now in the team's 4th season, we have created a team of talented individuals that have played club hockey before with adding in some new recruits (mostly freshmen).
We are sanctioned by the UMD Recreational Sports Outdoor Program. We do receive some contributions from them via money and icetime. Other than that, everything else is out of pocket. This gets tough when out-of-town trips take place, hotels, ice, referees, gas etc. come into play. We are proud to support ourselves, but also appreciate any donations/sponsorships in any form or amount!!!
