Description

Hi.....my name is Carole Crosby Borrows and I have been experimenting in the "arts" for as long as I can remember. I have always had a passion for "color" and the "unique" and, even as a young child, spent a great deal of my time creating "one of a kind" gifts for family, friends and relatives. Upon graduating from high school, I attended Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts where, in 1968, I received my degree in Commercial Art, studying fashion design, drawing, composition, painting and three-dimensional design.

After a career in the Art Department of a large Insurance Company, my husband and I decided to start a family and felt that being a "stay at home" mom was of great importance to both of us. I became the mother of two wonderful sons, and after a few years of changing diapers, started a home based seamstress business. Still needing more of a "creative outlet", in 1986 I founded THE MYRIAD COLLECTION, a company specializing in unique "wearable art". This venture has continually evolved throughout my adult life with the creation and development of my own line of unique, handcrafted jewelry and accessories.

My main source of inspiration is derived from my love of the "sea" and the belief that "anything old can become new again". In connection with this concept came the birth of my "seaglass series", a line of inspirational jewelry that includes, with each piece, my "trademark" of a "heart" and a piece of "wire wrapped seaglass", symbolizing "love" and "rebirth".
