Description
Jon has dedicated the past 30 years to natural foods and holistic living and is one of the pioneers of the industry. He is a professional natural foods chef, culinary arts instructor and restaurant consultant.
Jon created the Five Seasons Restaurant in Boston, Massachusetts in 1981 and was the chef and co-owner for eleven years. In Aspen, Colorado, he was the executive chef at Explore Bistro and the owner/operator of Wildflower Catering from which the original Sunflower Restaurant was born. He also developed and managed the Aspen Club Cafe, an upscale bistro in one of America's finest health clubs. In 1999, Jon opened Sunflower in Boulder and is the executive chef and owner.
Achieving immediate success in Boulder, Sunflower has received numerous awards and rave reviews. Sunflower features certified organically-grown grains and produce(locally grown as seasons permit), free-range poultry and game, all natural meats, fresh seafood and over 40 quality organic or biodynamic wines. Sunflower is one of America's premier natural food restaurants and using the Boulder location as a model, Jon has plans to open other locations throughout the West.
