Description
Built in 1944, the MV Songhee is of heavy, wood construction and served as a supply vessel for the Canadian navy and air force until she was retired in 1990. Since then, the Songhee has been refurbished to provide comfortable cruising in the coastal waters of British Columbia. The Songhee is Transport Canada approved.
The refurbished Songhee features six guest staterooms – five twin-sized bunks and one single – each with its own washbasin, locker and storage. There are two shared washrooms with showers. All linens are provided. The Songhee has an additional six bunks below deck forward and 4 staterooms on the main deck that are usually used for the crew. The Songhee can take on 12 berthed (overnight) passengers, 18 for camp trips, or up to 49 for day trips.
The spacious cedar-finished salon includes a large dining table that seats 12, a television for watching videos, and other comforts. The Songhee also has a fully-equipped galley to produce hearty, nutritional meals for passengers and crew. A washer and dryer are also available onboard for laundry.
