When inspiration strikes it usually catches you by surprise. That was the case for me with gourmet tea. As a committed coffee drinker a single cup of high grade hand picked green tea from a world renowned garden unleashed a flurry of thought and possibility. I was amazed at the flavor compared to tea as I knew it and wondered what would it take to bring the same experience (and maybe a little inspiration) to others? With that the seed for SOMA Tea was planted.
What followed was a year of research into green tea, black tea, herbal tea and iced tea, the markets for them (in particular the ability to buy tea online or order tea online), numerous focus groups and tastings' for potential products (very enjoyable), and hundreds of contacts (if not thousands) identifying blue chip partners worldwide to bring SOMA Tea into reality.
In late 2001, SOMA Tea emerged as a line of high grade unique and delicious gourmet tea and herbal beverages from around the world, supported by partnerships among numerous select tea gardens, world class tea flavor experts, high grade packaging suppliers, select retailers, and the ability to buy tea or order tea online through the internet. All to bring you a truly unique drinking experience!
