- Peakes Insurance Agency was founded in March of 1969 by John E. Peakes, Sr., with its first office in Ventura, California. At that time the agency concentrated its business on automobile insurance. That same fall marked a pivotal point in the history of the agency when it gained the first Ventura County Appointment with Mercury Insurance Group, a fruitful relationship that has continued to grow and develop since that time. In 1983, the agency expanded with a second office in Lancaster, California. Once again, it gained the first regional appointment with Mercury in the Antelope Valley, A third office was opened in Rocklin, California (Sacramento area) in 1995 by another on of John Peakes, Sr.'s sons, Jeff. Jeff and his family moved to the east coast in 2000 and the Rocklin Agnency was sold. John Peakes, Sr. has retired and John, Jr. has taken over the management and operation of the two offices with his son Chad joining the agency in the summer of 2005. Peakes Insurance Agency looks forward to further expansion in the future and still specializes in auto, home and other personal insurance lines. As a family owned and operated business, personal interest in the individual needs of our clientele contributes to the superior customer service on which the agency prides itself. The agency continues to grow and change with the developing technology and demands of the insurance industry and we look forward to being able to serve you with your future insurance needs.
