Online Poker Review - Home

Description

My education background is such that I am degree qualified in statistics, mathematics and economics. This sort of academic background provides an excellent platform for analysing everything to do with gambling in a way that few can.

I have been involved in the gambling industry for over 10 years now. For the first 7 years I played almost exclusively blackjack. As a professional card counter I made my living touring the world playing blackjack. However, unlike poker blackjack has a finite time horizon for individual players. I soon felt the wrath of casinos around the world and found it increasingly difficult to get a game anywhere. Coupled with this I could see the blackjack industry slowly dying with increased surveillance by casino’s and continuous shuffling machines making it too hard to make an honest living as a card counter. In a desperate attempt to keep myself in the manner to which I am accustomed I turned to poker, and have never regretted the move since. For the last 3 years I have profited more than I ever did in blackjack with a lower variance. During the past 3 years I have read everything to do with poker and done plenty of analysing myself. 2 years ago I discovered online poker, which lead to the development of this site.

I freely admit that I have not played a live game in over 2 years. For me Internet poker was a godsend. The end of smoke filled rooms, hostile players and tipping the dealer. Internet poker allows you to pick and choose your games from hundreds of tables and better still you can play 2 or more games at once, all from the comfort of your own lounge room. But the number one question is can you make money? I can tell you that from first hand experience the answer is YES! I have logged hundreds of hours online at a very healthy win rate. Internet poker is definitely not fixed, as the conspiracy theorists would have you believe. Perhaps the only downside to Internet poker is the lack of social interaction with dealers and other players. If you play poker purely for the social atmosphere than this may not be for you. But I play for money and love Internet poker. May all you gut shot draws hit (unless you are playing against me).
