Thousands of area children visited the Wild West Pavilion and Arena at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds Tuesday to enjoy crafts, games, live animals and more during the 2006 NebraskaLand Days Kids Fun Festival.

Criteria for determining which students will graduate with "distinction" and which will earn "highest distinction" were presented to the North Platte Board of Education at it's meeting Monday.

The last time anyone saw an American Burying Beetle in the vicinity of a $12 million road-extension project in North Platte was 1993. And they were dead, found in a bug zapper at the West Central Research and Extension Center.
