For 16 years, United Parcel Service employees in Mitchell have been lending a hand to a man who once was one of their own. Kim Nelson was working for UPS when he was struck by a drunken driver at Seventh Avenue and Capital Street in March 1993, said Cary Shonley, UPS center manager. He was running an errand to get a bottle and diapers for a baby when another driver ran a stop and struck the side of Nelson’s vehicle, Shonley said.
