Description
Born in Texas into a military family, I lived in several places, including Japan, before my father's last duty assignment was in Charleston South Carolina. My parents loved Charleston SC so much, that upon my father's retirement from the United States Air Force, they decided to call it home. I grew up in the West Ashley section of Charleston and attended public schools. I have lived and worked in Charleston SC for over 40 years.
Along with my busy work schedule, I am actively involved with my family. I married my high school sweetheart, Karen, and we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in October 2004 with a trip to Hawaii. Karen and I have four wonderful children. Michael, 23, lives and works in North Charleston. Jennifer, 21, is a junior at the College of Charleston. Matthew, 18, is a freshman the College of Charleston and Mark,16, is a sophomore at James Island Charter High School and is enjoying being a teenager and playing soccer .
With having such a varied range of occupations, I have found that they all have one thing in common, working with people. My first job after high school was being a patrolman with the Charleston City Police Department. Talk about working with people. I really enjoyed the job but when our family started, my wife was more concerned. I then went into the restaurant business where I was promoted to the position of General Manager of a regional restaurant chain within 15 months which was faster than the 36 month average. After working for this company for a total of 8 years, I decided to try owning and operating a restaurant of my own. I opened a Deli and Sandwich shop. I then opened a sports bar, and consession stand at the local municiple golf course. I ran all 3 of these at the same time. I closed the deli after hurricane Hugo and sold my sports bar and consession stand. I then opened a Coin and Sports Card hobby store and ran that myself until I sold it. I have been successful because I know how to treat people. I bring the same energy and efforts into my Charleston SC Real Estate career.
