The business began in 1935 under the ownership of Clayt Karges. He died in 1951, and in 1952 Glenn Decker and Earl Shantz - Dave and Rick's fathers, purchased the business from his estate. In 1979, the two sons bought the business from their fathers and continue to run it as a partnership today.
Personalized service is what sets their business apart from other appliance retailers, explains Decker. Staff turnover is very low, he says, resulting in an extremely knowledgeable team. "From a sales point of view, a person can get really good advice and recommendations, not just a pitch on the product". By this he means that his staff will not use pressure
