Mary Alice Panek has been in the classroom for over twenty years. She has experience teaching secondary English and for the last ten years she has been teaching in the inclusive elementary classroom. Mary Alice has received training in First Day of School by Harry Wong, The Madeline Hunter Model of Elements of Effective Instruction, Cooperative Learning Models, and many others. Mary Alice has led training workshops on using computers in the classroom, Microsoft Office classroom tools, Hyperstudio, and creating web pages. She has been involved as a mentor for new teachers and has had many student teachers in her classroom.
Maryruth Morris has over thirty five years of experience with individuals with cognitive deficits. For the past ten years, Maryruth has been working with Autistic Spectrum Disorder clients. With younger students, Maryruth works with parents and primary teachers to create a setting that is predictable, comfortable, and structured. In the elementary setting, Maryruth works with teachers to identify the behaviors and helps to implement a management plan that increases student success. In the middle school and junior senior high school, her goals are to build in strategies to support the constant transitioning. Ms. Morris works with nine different school districts coaching teachers to have success with ASD learners. All of her students are mainstreamed in a variety of regular education settings.
