Introduction

The Lost Cherokee of Arkansas and Missouri, Inc. (Lost Cherokee Nation) is a Native American non-profit organization, holding a 501‑C3 status with the IRS and Arkansas Attorney General. Its governing structure consists of three headmen and six councilmen. Your donations to the Lost Cherokee Nation are tax deductible.

Mission

The Lost Cherokee Nation promotes revitalization of the Cherokee culture among the descendants of Cherokee that hid their origin to remain in Arkansas after the forced removal of Native Americans from their original homelands. The Lost Cherokee Nation administers assistance and benefits to deserving individuals within this community of individuals. Also, the Lost Cherokee Nation promotes recognition of this community of individuals as a distinct Native American tribe.

Obtain federal recognition by the United States government as a Native American tribe in accordance with Code of Federal Regulations Title 25, Chapter I, Part 83.
