Dr. Marion C. Millender (1869-1973) was a native of Smithfield, NC. who established his medical practice in Asheville as a young man. He was known as a colorful individual and a beloved physician of the community. He lived here to the age of 104. The house at 240 Pearson Drive has designed for Dr. Millender and his wife, Mary Mebane White Millender, by Asheville architect William Henry Lord, and was completed in 1907.
