Description
Although originally from St. Louis, Missouri, I currently make my life in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I stay at home while raising my two boys, and my primary interest and energy is invested in the details of their lives, which include their home-schooling.
In about 1997, the art of mosaic called to me from an HGTV program on "The Gardens of Barcelona". What began as a hobby has progressed to the point of obsession! I have found that practically every surface or object in the world is suitable for mosaicing, and in the rare instance that something is not suitable for being mosaiced, then it should at least be broken up and used as mosaic material for something else.
Mosaic applications range from the practical and utilitarian, to the purely artistic. The sheer versatility of mosaic is amazing, lending to its ability to transform even the most benign object into something uniquely beautiful. For example, I love recycling bottles into glittering and colorful objects. At the same time, I deeply appreciate mosaic as purely artistic expression, and I keep pushing myself in this area.
