Description

I started my career in cake decorating in 1991, while working in a patisserie in my hometown of Rochester in Kent. Thrown in at the deep end when the resident cake decorator retired, I had to learn quickly, but I was hooked!

Since that hasty apprenticeship, I have been privileged to study Sugarcraft and Cake Decorating professionally at the prestigious Brooklands College, gaining distinctions to Advanced level. My other studies include inspirational chocolate courses, wedding floristry, and a spectrum of traditional arts and crafts that can be translated into sugar to stunning effect.

In recent years, my work has been entered into a number of competitions, achieving a first place in the National Federation of Bakery Students’ annual competition; a silver award for floral sugarcraft at the international Salon Culinaire; a 2nd place at Squires Kitchen’s 19th annual competition, and a 1st prize for floral sugarcraft at the recent Kent County Show.
