About CIBMTR
CIBMTR brings together the expertise and unique resources of two leaders in the field of blood and marrow transplant research: the National Marrow Donor Program
This partnership will make it easier to design, conduct and support clinical studies that involve large numbers of patients from multiple transplant centers - the types of studies that are needed to answer critical questions in the field of blood and marrow transplantation. The Center is committed to increasing application and access to cellular transplant therapy, as well as improving outcomes. The ultimate goal is to help more transplant patients live longer, healthier lives.
The new center will greatly expand research activities to increase scientific knowledge of blood and marrow transplantation through:
Retrospective studies of the world's largest blood and marrow transplant databases and tissue sample repositories to identify the most promising transplant approaches and the patients most likely to benefit from this therapy.
