ISE have been long associated with the importing of vehicles in South West Scotland. Originally, Eric and Karen McFarlane were involved with the importing of Aprilia motorcycles and scooters as the official UK importer for the Italian brand. Based in Dunragit just outside Stranraer, after the UK operation became a subsidiary, Aprilia relocated the business to Manchester. Not wishing to move to Manchester, having settled in South West Scotland with their family, Eric and Karen started ISE with three friends, Ian and Myra Newton and Steven Bastable.
"We have however, retained our links with the two-wheeled industry as the sole UK importer for the Daelim Motor Company, a South Korean manufacturer of scooters, motorcycles and quads. In fact, it was this link with the Far East that resulted in us becoming a serious importer of second hand vehicles from Japan.
Nowadays, we are importing over 1,000 vehicles per year and normally carry around 200 vehicles in stock between our shore side retail site in Stranraer and our warehouse and distribution centre near Liverpool.
