Title
Amelia Island Bed and Breakfast, Fernandina Beach FL, Hoyt House B&B Inn
Description
Hoyt House Bed & Breakfast Inn, built on Centre Street in 1905 by builder John Mann, was modeled after the Rockefeller Cottage in Jekyll Island. Banker Fred Hoyt, his wife Kate, and their three boys--Charles, Willis & Wadleigh--resided here until Mr. Hoyt's death in 1927. The Everett Mizell family enjoyed a comfortable life in this grand home for the next half-century, followed by a local attorney, who's offices occupied the mansion until 1992. Over the past 100 years each owner worked to preserve the authentic and beautiful detail of the mansion's original architecture, which continues to delight guests today.
Hoyt House offers 10 spacious guest rooms, a swimming pool and hot tub, 4 public rooms with fireplaces, a turn of the century birdcage alive with colorful finches, afternoon refreshments, bikes, a fully stocked library and gently rocking porch swings.
Luxurious leather sofas in front of the fireplace invite you to sit awhile and relax with a glass of your favorite beverage or listen to a piano serenade offered by a fellow guest.
